Zagreb is a combination of Austro-Hungarian structures and around the edge socialist edifices. The city is meant for walking around. There are quite a number of galleries to discover and many restaurants that serve as a pit stop. During summer, locals are seen in Jarun Lake where they can swim or go boating. If you love to see the art work of local and international artists then visit the Museum of Contemporary Art. There are also theaters and opera houses that present great art productions. The Dolac Market shouldn’t be missed as you can find traders from different parts of the country that sell various items from dairy products, honey, to ornaments.  In the northern part of Zagreb is where you can find Mirogoj which is considered the most beautiful cemetery in Europe. It is found at the foot of Mount Medvednic. The whole place was designed by Herman Bolle during 1876. You can find sculpture and art tombs. If you want to visit the city of Zagreb you can catch a flight from every capital around Europe and USA and I woul advsice you to check for airline tickets online since they are cheaper.

Kaptol Square is found in the upper part of Zagreb. The buildings in the area date back from 17thcentury. The Stone Gate is found in the eastern area which is now made into a shrine.  Based on the legend, there was a huge fire that happened in 1731 that destroyed everything except for the Virgin and Child painting. Malo Jerezo and Veliko Jerezo are two places which are great for water activities. To get to the area you will need to take the tram and follow the signs.

Stari Fijaker 900 is a center for dining in the city of Zagreb.  They serve local delicacies like sausage and beef stews. Top it up with local beer. If you love seafood then visit Tip Top. Every day is a different menu for them. Their octopus dishes shouldn’t be missed. If you want to taste Croatian cuisine, you might want to visit Kerempuh that is headed by Chef Dino Galvagno. The menu of the restaurant revolves around the fresh finds found in the market. During summer, eat at the covered patio of Vinodol that serves veal and high quality Croatian wines.

There are quite a number of accommodations in the city that fit any budget. You can find a great one with luxurious amenities that can complement your stay. There are cheap hostels that can serve as your home base while touring the city.  It is easy to get around Zagreb by just walking however the tram system is proven to be practical and affordable. There are airlines that fly directly to the city like Croatia Airlines. You can also ride an airline with stopovers to great cities like Manchester ad Birmingham. From the airport you can take the bus or rent a car.
