No need for visa to visit Beijing in China anymore

Doors literally open to tourists in Beijing, the capital of China. The Chinese State Council has approved a proposal to allow foreign visitors passing in Beijing to remain in the capital for up to 72 hours without a visa. 72 hours are 3 days. I think that will be enough for your first trip to China.

The new regulation will come into force from the 1st of January 2013 and will apply to citizens from 45 countries including Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, the United States and from all EU countries. Too bad that the news apply only for Beijing because for all other destinations in China the previous rules remain in force which require a visa. But in the meantime it is a beginning and hope for the best for the future.
