Weekend breaks to remember

When people used to talk about going away for the weekend, it was very rare that they’d go out of their own country, unless they happened to live close to the border. Flights were simply too expensive to go off for a long weekend somewhere. In order to make it worthwhile, you had to fly to a destination that you would spend a week or more in.

Now, however, everything has changed with the availability of cheap flights all over Europe. Today, you almost don’t have to think about the cost of a flight, especially if you’re happy to go wherever the bargain prices will take you. So, you could look up what’s on offer just a few days before you’re going away, and take the best priced flight for your trip budget.

Of course, it doesn’t always work out perfectly, and sometimes you might want to travel somewhere specific for a special event like a wedding, but with such a choice of different airlines and airports to fly from to many European destinations, it’s worth shopping around for the best prices before you book anything.

For example, you can get cheap flights to Alicante from Manchester anytime, but if the prices are coming up as more than you had expected, you could always see if it was worth your while to fly from another airport like Liverpool or Leeds Bradford instead. It might be a little further to travel to a different airport than your closest one, but it may save you a significant amount of money.

Our generation is spoilt for choice with easy ways to get interesting places, and a huge choice of different places to stay when we get to wherever we’re going. There’s no doubt that this generation can have many weekend breaks to beautiful cities that they will always remember.
