Besides the most famous natural site on the west coast of the United States, the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, in a tourist trip inside the state namely Arizona or Utah we find other weird places with spectacular panoramic large and deep canyons formed by a river. This is the case of the spectacular scenery known as Horseshoe Bend which you can see in Arizona south of Lake Powell near the amazing landscape of Antelope Canyon. Horseshoe Bend is a meander shaped canyon formed by the Colorado River.
Another spectacular view of a deep canyon in Arizona is that you will face if you decide to approach the tourist attraction built south of Grand Canyon National Park in Colorado. This is the Skywalk glass platform located within the Hualpai Indian Reservation which stands on the precipice of a canyon 1400 feet deep.
Further north in the state of Utah north of Monument Valley you can visit the Goosenecks of the San Juan River, a tributary of the Colorado River. It is a bend with a deep canyon formed by the river.
