The designers Jin-Sun Park and Seon-Keun Park have discovered Maptor, a projector of personal maps that is going to outdate the typical paper maps.By now, all the latest smartphones with an integrated GPS sensor possess the ability to access the maps. On this track, however, comes this interesting project. The basic idea is to concentrate on a single device that has all the maps you can use when visiting a foreign city.
The two students designed this concept and gave it the name Maptor (map and projector). The device combines the characteristics of a map and a projector and that allows it to display a map on any surface, from a wall to the palm of your hand. It can be easily carried around as it has the same size with a lighter and you don’t have to worry if it breaks because it is very compact. With its zooming functions you don’t have to struggle to find roads etc as you would bend over the classic map. So forget carrying around a foldable map or a book with directions!
My personal favorite function is its integrated GPS, as thanks to it plus its projector, Maptor shows your location on the map with the classic red dot “you are here.” In this way you can find out where you are, check the area around you and decide on the directions you have to follow to get to where you want with easy.
