Of course you do not go to Paris just to get to skate on the ice but if you’re already in the area or you are planning to maybe go there for Valentine’s Day or another occasion (any excuse for a holiday in Paris) we mark a small but interesting attraction. Ice skating!
The square of the Hôtel de Ville until mid March will be in operation (from Monday to Friday from 12 to 22, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 to 22) as an outdoor ice rink with free access. It will cost 5 € only for those who will rent skates and I imagine there will be many who will.
The tracks are actually two. One of more than 1300 square meters for those who are already familiar with in-line skates and ice floors and a smaller one for beginners and children: for them there are special double-bladed skates and skate newbies are not likely to be overwhelmed. On Saturday and Sunday morning classes and demonstrations are provided free of charge from 9 to 12.
The other ice rinks set up during the Christmas events can be found at the Grand Palai on the Champs-Elysées and the Trocadéro. Unfortunately, all close on January 6.
