To visit the populous cosmopolitan capital of Spain just a few days are not enough but if you have limited time there are some necessary steps to take when meeting with the city! First, the Museo del Prado is one of the largest and richest museums in the world and cleverly collects the history of the Old World and the past five centuries. The greatest artists in Europe can be found here such as Goya, Velazquez, Raffaello, Caravaggio and many other artists who excite tourists to such an extent that the museum is also in charge of a clinic for those who remain victims of the Stendhal Syndrome, the illness that captures those who find themselves in front of works of art to die for.
The Reina Sofia Museum is a must as it collects the works of geniuses such as Picasso, Dali and Miro. Here you can admire the famous antiwar work Guernica by Picasso. An emotion that you can not deny! Caravaggio, Hopper, Van Gogh are some of the artists that you can see in the third of the city’s most famous museum, the Thyssen also not to be missed. The Royal Palace is another monument to visit and during official ceremonies you could also happen to see the Royal Family but the real interest of this building is in its architecture and interiors. If you want to relax and breathe a little fresh air in the crowded metropolis you should enjoy a walk in the Parque del Buen Retiro which is also a meeting place for street artists, musicians and on Sundays for many percussionists who give birth to a wonderful performance.
The term nightlife was born just for Madrid! Nightlife in this city makes you believe that the difference between day and night does not seem to exist. The streets are always crowded ready to welcome young and old that wish to have fun. So after a nice dinner of typical cuisine in Madrid, one of the best in the world, get carried away by the nightlife, clubs and bars in the capital. In the Chueca district there’s even a meeting of the gay community and anyone who wants to have fun and enjoy themselves can do it until dawn!
